About LMF Films
The LMF Film Strand is our way of supporting short films made in Liverpool. It’s for local directors, writer/directors, and director/producer duos who have an idea they believe in, something personal, ambitious, or important to them.
If you’re developing or have a short idea that you’re ready to go and get made with a bunch of like-minded, crazy and ready to go folks… then keep on reading!
Why We’re Building This

Liverpool creatives have such fun and awesome ideas, but there aren’t many places in the city that give those ideas the proper time, support, or room to grow. The LMF Film Strand has been created to change that.

We want directors to be able to take risks, learn from working professionals, and see their films made here rather than feeling they have to go elsewhere. Every project made through this strand builds skills, confidence and community within Liverpool’s film scene. Each film shows that new talent can develop here and that the stories of Liverpool's creatives deserve to be made and seen.
Our Partners
The films made through the LMF Film Strand are supported by local partners who want to ensure Liverpool filmmakers have access to equipment, spaces, and guidance to learn and develop with the best kit and resources.

No Drama
Our kit partner. They supply the camera and lighting equipment for each film and make sure directors and trainees are working with professional gear.

Action Props
They give our productions access to props and materials and support our art departments as they build the visual world of each film. Trainees get hands-on experience with how an art team works.

Dragon Post Production
They provide editing and grading support and welcome trainees into their post-production space. Directors work with their team to shape the film in its final stage.

Our partners are showcasing their part in developing and building a pathway for the next group of filmmakers coming through Liverpool.
