The Writers’ Hangout: Script Layout

This month’s Writer’s Hangout is focused on script layout and the fundamentals of screenwriting.

If you’ve always wanted to write a script but never knew where to begin, this session is a good place to start. We’ll be looking at the basics of screenplay formatting, how scripts are structured on the page, and the different software platforms writers use when developing work.

We’ll also talk through the early stages of turning an idea into a first draft, from getting scenes down quickly to understanding how a screenplay reads differently from prose or other forms of writing.

This isn’t a formal class or industry lecture. It’s a relaxed space to ask questions, learn the basics, share ideas, and spend time around other people interested in writing for screen.
