Script to Screen

This month’s Writer’s Hangout is focused on taking a script from the page to the screen.

For a lot of writers, finishing a script can feel like the end goal. But if you’ve ever wanted to direct your own work, make a short film, or understand how a script actually becomes something physical, this session is a chance to explore those next steps.

We’ll be talking through the early practical and creative stages involved in turning an idea into a film. Building a small team, finding collaborators, funding routes, planning a shoot, and translating characters and scenes from writing into performance and direction.

This session is especially useful for writers who are interested in directing, making their first short film, or simply understanding the filmmaking process beyond the script itself.
