Spain, 1944. Ofelia moves with her pregnant mother to a remote military outpost, where her new stepfather, Captain Vidal, commands the soldiers. Beyond the mill, she discovers an ancient labyrinth. Its resident faun tells her she belongs to another world, if she can complete three tasks.
Twenty years after its release, Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth returns in a new 4K restoration, made from the original 35mm negative and overseen by del Toro himself. This LMF preview at Picturehouse @ FACT in Liverpool takes place ahead of its UK re-release.
After the film, we'll spend around 35–40 minutes discussing it together. We'll return to the faun, Ofelia's decisions and the film's ending, with time for questions and different readings from the audience.
