About the event
Sound recordist Jim Baitte arrives on a remote island in search of the perfect sound for a horror film. A ghostly sea captain is stealing souls. Jim would quite like to get it on tape.
The Peril at Pincer Point is a supernatural comedy directed by Jake Kuhn and Noah Stratton-Twine, made with a five-person core crew and a cast of friends. A coastal shoot and more than 100 visual-effects shots grew into a film that won the NEON Auteur Award at SXSW 2026.
Jake and Noah will be with us in person after the film. We'll talk about improvising with their cast, building the island's world and making something this ambitious with a small team, with time for questions from the audience.
Wednesday 9 December 2026. Film starts at 7pm.
Screen 1, Picturehouse at FACT, 88 Wood Street, Liverpool L1 4DQ.
