Giving & Receiving Notes

This months Writer’s Hangout is focused on giving and receiving notes in a way designed to be useful, clear, and supportive.

If you have a piece of writing where something isn’t quite working, a scene you’ve gone blind to, or a draft you’re unsure how to move forward, this session is a chance to look at it with fresh eyes. We’ll spend time sharing work, talking through feedback, and exploring how notes can help clarify what’s already there rather than overwhelm it.

There’s no pressure to share. You can bring a full piece, a single scene, or just come along to listen and learn how other writers approach feedback. The aim is to make notes feel less intimidating and more like a practical tool for moving your writing on.

This is a relaxed, supportive space shaped by the writers in the room, with time to write, discuss, and reflect together.
