About the event
Girls on Film is a one-off screening night celebrating short films made by girls, created in support of the upcoming female-led feature film STEVI.
Taking place at Picturehouse @ FACT on Tuesday 16 June, the evening will bring together a curated selection of short films from emerging female filmmakers, giving audiences the chance to discover new voices, new stories and new work on the big screen. The programme is built around the excitement of seeing what the next wave of female filmmakers are making right now, from bold narrative work to more visually driven pieces that show how wide and personal short filmmaking can be.
The night is also inspired by the world of STEVI, so we’re leaning fully into a 90s theme. Think vintage clothes, grunge textures, indie sleaze, digital cameras, old flash photography and the kind of messy, intimate style that feels pulled from another time. Guests are encouraged to…
