First Take Introduction + Workshop

We’re excited to welcome First Take, one of Liverpool’s most respected film organisations, for an evening exploring their work, their opportunities, and a hands-on introduction to writing and directing drama.

First Take has supported underrepresented voices for nearly 40 years, creating powerful fiction and documentary films across the region and beyond. They offer a range of development programmes, courses, and community-led projects and this is your chance to hear how you can get involved.

The session will be led by Lynne Harwood, writer, director, editor, and the Artistic Director of First Take since 1993. Lynne has written and directed two feature films and many shorts, with work screened at festivals including Los Angeles, Berlin, Toronto, São Paulo and London. Alongside her work with First Take, she writes for TV and is currently developing a series with BAFTA-nominated Moonspun Films.
