A forged banknote changes hands and sets off a chain of events that gradually destroys a young man’s life. No dramatic twists. Just decisions and consequences stacking up.
Afterwards, we’ll look at Bresson’s approach to performance and editing. The minimal delivery. The focus on hands, doors, small actions. The way emotion is kept at a distance. It’s a film that strips things back and still lands hard. Good ground for talking about control, moral weight, and how much you can remove before something stops working.
